Dual Range Bearingless Digital Torquemeters

Model # 84700V Series

Dual Range Digital Torque Transducers will accurately measure low running and high load torque without the cost and inconvenience of swapping two or more conventional torque sensors.  Available high ranges from 500 to 100,000 lbf-in (56.5 to 11,300 Nm) and low ranges from 100 to 20,000 lbf-in (11.3 to 2,260 Nm).  Performance is ±0.03% of high range full scale and ±0.05% of low range full scale, combined non-linearity  and hysteresis.

Important applications include measuring torque when the ratio of peak torque to average torque is high. In this situation, a conventional torquemeter must be oversized to avoid damage – a process which greatly reduces accuracy. Conditions that create high peak to average ratios include starting, stopping or reversing inertial loads, torsional oscillations, and diesel and single cylinder engine/compressor drives. Additionally, when peak torques are unknown, an MCRT® 84700V reduces the risk of damage from unexpected or accidental torque spikes.

These Dual Range Torquemeters have high accuracy in real-world applications, not just in the cal lab. They have the industry’s highest Overrange ratings, which avoids clipping real-world torque peaks and driveline torsionsals. Without sufficient Overrange, clipped torques will produce large measurement errors.

Each range is calibrated CW and CCW in our accredited laboratory and documented by a NVLAP approved calibration certificate certifying NIST traceability and documenting our laboratory operation and our quality management system meets ISO/IEC 17025-2005. A bi-directional rotor shunt calibration verifies the entire CW and CCW data chains. It may be invoked from switches, I/O lines or your computer.

Also available in 200% overload and 400% overload single range configurations.
