S .Himmelstein and Company announced a new, wideband Option for its line of DC Operated, Non-contact Strain Gage Torquemeters Option K increases the bandwidth of these robust products to 1,100 hertz; more than double that of standard models. It's expected to find wide application in monitoring, controlling and classifying dynamic diesel and gas engine output, motor ripple torque, torsional vibrations, impact wrench testing, and similar applications.

Option K retains all other features and dimensions of standard torquemeters. It is available on the companies shaft end, splined end, flanged end, wheel, pulley an dual range DC Operated Torquemeter. All standard torque ranges from 10 ounce-inches through 4,000,000 pound-inches are offered. Overload ratings are 200 percent through 1,000 percent of range, model dependent. Accuracy is 0.1% of full scale. An NIST traceable Calibration is performed on every torquemeter in the companies NVLAP accredited calibration laboratory.

Dual 5 Volt torque outputs interface directly to the users PC/PLC controller or data acquisition system. A single, un-regulated dc supply (10.5 to 24 Volts) is required for power. Other premium features include 15-5 PH stainless steel load bearing members, non-ferrite rotary transformer signal coupling, splash proofing and permanent lubrication.
