S. Himmelstein and Company announced that its' Calibration Laboratory has been accredited under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) to ISO Guide 25 and ISO 9002. The scope of that accreditation is defined under NVLAP lab code 200487-0. The Himmelstein Calibration Laboratory has been certified for calibration of torque devices with maximum full scale ranges from 24 lbf-in to 4,000,000 lbf-in. The minimum full scale range is 10 ozf-in. Calibrations are performed using weights and lever arms that are directly traceable to the NIST.
Six dead weight calibration fixtures are available with maximum capacities from 24 lbf-in to 350,000 lbf-in. A hydraulic fixture using a precision load cell as a reference standard is used for torques to 4,000,000 lbf-in. Each fixture is under computer control for automated data collection and performance analysis. A complete calibration certificate is generated and provided with each calibration. Calibration data is permanently stored and available for recall.
