New Current Signal Conditioning Module For Series 700 Instruments

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ........ October 26, 2001

S. Himmelstein and Company announced a new Current Signal Conditioner for its Series 700 Microprocessor Instruments. The Model 6 powers both 2-wire transmitters and 4-wire current sources. Installed in a 700 Instrument it acquires, conditions, displays and classifies torque, pressure, flow, temperature, force and displacement from 2-wire transmitters or other current sources. Four built-in ranges of 4-20mA, 12±8mA, 0±10mA and 0±20mA can be selected from the keypad or remotely via a com port. Accuracy is 0.02% without calibration; resolution is 0.01%.

A Series 700 Instrument accepts one or two Model 6 conditioners or, one Model 6 and any other Series 700 conditioner. Available conditioners handle strain gages, dc voltage, frequency, LVDT's, encoders, totalizers and temperature. Combining a Model 6 and another type creates a powerful data acquisition and processing instrument. For example, combining a Model 6 and a frequency conditioner with appropriate transmitters, yields an instrument that measures torque or force, speed or velocity and computes mechanical power. All 700 Instruments feature 2000 samples/second, six digit engineering unit displays, limits, max/min capture, analog and digital outputs, real time calculations, logical operations, and multiple logic I/O's.
