FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ........ January 31, 2002

S. Himmelstein and Company announced three new Instruments for conditioning 2-wire and 4-wire transmitters. The Models 706, 766 and 726 acquire, condition, display and classify current signals form pressure, flow, temperature, force and displacement transmitters and other current sources. Four built-in ranges of 4-20mA, 12±8mA, 0±10mA and 0±20mA can be selected from the keypad or remotely via a com port. Accuracy is 0.02% without calibration; resolution is 0.01%.
A Model 706 handles one and a Model 766 handles two transmitters. The Model 726 handles one transmitter and one frequency input. When the transmitter measures load (torque, head or drawbar force) and the frequency input measures rate (speed, flow or velocity), the Model 726 computes the mechanical or fluid power.
All models feature 2000 samples/second, six digit engineering unit displays, limits, max/min capture, analog and digital outputs, real time calculations, logical operations, and multiple logic I/O's. They can also function as State Machines; used in that mode, complex, Event Driven Tests are readily implemented. Software is supplied that remotely controls instrument functions from a Windows based PC. It also displays, plots and saves real time data, does X-Y plots, and will save and download the instruments setup parameters.
